King's Pimpama

Performing Arts

Performing Arts at King’s Pimpama is shaped by our Foundational Values — Learn Passionately, Live Purposefully, Love Faithfully and Lead Diligently. Across classroom learning and co-curricular activities, students explore Dance, Drama and Music in an environment designed to support creativity, collaboration and personal growth. Through these disciplines, they build confidence, develop teamwork and empathy, and strengthen their leadership skills as they pursue their artistic interests.

School Productions and Performance Opportunities

Students have many opportunities to showcase their talents throughout the year and develop confidence on stage. They perform in musical ensembles, choirs, and musicals and productions at key school events such as Easter Fest, Spring Fair, and Christmas Concerts.

A highlight of King’s Performing Arts program is our school productions, which offer students from Primary and High School with meaningful opportunities to perform and develop their artistic abilities. In Primary, students take part in a biennial musical, designed to involve as many students as possible, giving them the opportunity to explore a broad range of artistic skills while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

Each year, High School students take part in a major production, presented as either a full musical or an original stage play. These productions offer extensive opportunities for students to extend their skills and engage in all aspects of performance, including acting, singing, dancing, music, lighting, sound, costumes, props, promotion, and hospitality. Through this process, students gain valuable experience in collaboration, leadership, and teamwork, giving students meaningful real-world experience while creating memorable events for the wider school community.

“At King's, Instrumental Music provides a rich and nurturing environment that inspires creativity and excellence. Our passionate and professional staff help students develop their God-given gifts, supporting growth both musically and personally. We cultivate a welcoming community through our bands, orchestras, choirs, and ensembles, where every member feels valued and connected. Above all, we seek to use our talents to honour God, and in so doing, inspire and uplift others.”

Instrumental Music

Instrumental Music at King’s Pimpama offers students clear pathways for growth, supporting them as they progress from beginner skills to more confident and advanced performance levels. Our experienced specialist teachers provide high-quality tuition across a broad range of instruments, helping students develop confidence, discipline and a genuine appreciation for music.

Year 4 Instrumental Music Program

A key feature of the music pathway at King's Pimpama is the compulsory Year 4 Instrumental Music Immersion Program. Each student learns one orchestral instrument from the Percussion, Woodwind, Strings or Brass families, with allocations made by specialist teachers to match student interest, suitability and overall program balance. Students attend weekly lessons and ensemble sessions at no cost to families and are encouraged to practise regularly at home. This program builds strong musical foundations and equips students to continue learning their instrument or explore a new one in the years ahead.

Private Lessons

Students can enrol in private Instrumental Music lessons across a wide range of instruments, including piano, voice, drums, guitar, strings, woodwind and brass. These lessons offer focused, individualised tuition that supports steady musical development and helps students build strong technical and performance skills. Families are encouraged to provide their own instrument or arrange a hire option where applicable, as college-owned instruments are limited.

Ensembles and Performance Opportunities

King's Pimpama offers a diverse selection of ensembles for Primary and High School students, including bands, choirs, orchestral groups and specialised ensembles. Participation is free and open to students who meet the required level of musicianship. Throughout the year, students perform at key school events such as Easter Fest, ANZAC services and Spring Fair, as well as Performing Arts showcases, dedicated instrumental evenings and external performance opportunities.
