At King's, we believe that faith grows through action. From local community projects to immersive mission trips across Australia and overseas, students have opportunities to serve others and develop a heart for compassionate, servant-hearted leadership. These experiences help students step beyond the familiar, put their values into practice, and gain a deeper understanding of people and communities beyond their own — all while being guided and supported by dedicated College staff.
LIFE Program
Putting Faith into Action
The LIFE program is King’s pathway for service, grounded in John 1:4: “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” From Early Learning to Year 12, students are given age‑appropriate opportunities to serve others and be part of something bigger than themselves, putting faith into action at school, in our city and beyond.
Serving Our Community and Beyond
Each term, students lead a key LIFE initiative, planning events and raising funds for mission partners locally and globally. Weekly, primary and high school teams volunteer their time to coordinate activities for our College community, supporting partners such as You Have a Friend, Thailand Rescue Mission for Children, 100% hOPE, Teen Challenge, and Operation Christmas Child. Through this hands‑on involvement, students grow in compassion, teamwork and servant‑hearted leadership.
Missions
Serve with Purpose
Mission trips to regional Australia and international communities give students the chance to step beyond the familiar and serve with purpose. Working alongside trusted community partners, they contribute time, skills and resources, listen to local stories and build genuine relationships. On these trips, faith moves from words to action in the spirit of James 2:14-17. Vision widens, gratitude grows and students learn to live beyond themselves.
My friends, what good is it to say you have faith, when you don't do anything to show you really do have faith? Can this kind of faith save you? If you know someone who doesn't have any clothes or food, you shouldn't just say, “I hope all goes well for you. I hope you will be warm and have plenty to eat.” What good is it to say this, unless you do something to help?
James 2:14-16
Growth and Reflection
Guided and mentored by College staff, who give their own time to make these life-changing experiences possible, students prepare thoughtfully before they go and reflect deeply when they return.
Building Leadership and Life Skills
Mission trips give students the opportunity to put our Foundational Values into practice as they grow in compassion, grace and humility. Students discover their gifts, gain confidence in their leadership skills and bring fresh perspective back to their classrooms, friendships and families. By serving others, students become more willing to walk in someone else's shoes, an important step on the journey to adulthood.
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
1 Peter 4:10
