King's Reedy Creek
High School
High School at King's Reedy Creek provides a supportive environment where students grow in Christian character while pursuing academic excellence. Our comprehensive program offers diverse opportunities for development through rigorous academic pathways, practical vocational studies, dynamic performing arts, and competitive sporting programs.
We place strong emphasis on leadership development as a core focus, with leadership opportunities across all areas of school life. Students are encouraged to be contributors to student-led initiatives throughout the College community, shaping confident, purpose-driven young adults equipped to make a positive impact.
Our rich co-curricular program includes year level camps that build resilience and community, alongside life-changing mission trips that broaden perspectives and deepen faith. At King's, every student is encouraged to reach their God-given potential in an environment where Christian values guide learning, relationships, and personal growth.
“At King’s, we are committed to developing every student through a rich learning journey that shapes their character, grows their faith, and equips them with the skills and confidence they need for life now and beyond school. Each step of their journey is intentional — preparing them to walk boldly into the future God has planned for them.”

Our High School Curriculum
Inspiring Excellence Through Faith and Learning
King’s Christian College delivers a high school curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum, under the oversight of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), and informed by the guidance of Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ). This framework ensures that our program maintains national academic standards while supporting students' personal growth and character development.
The curriculum provides a structured combination of core subjects and electives that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills. From Years 7 to 12, learning is designed to progressively cultivate independence, responsibility, and resilience, preparing students for success in senior studies, tertiary education, vocational pathways, and active, meaningful participation in the wider community.
In Years 7 and 8, students study a complete program of subjects that establishes a solid foundation and introduces a wide range of learning areas. This prepares them to make informed and confident elective choices in Years 9 and 10.

Year 10 at King's marks a transformative transition year where students are supported to step confidently towards their senior schooling journey. This pivotal year provides the perfect opportunity to explore diverse subjects, uncover personal strengths, and thoughtfully design their individualised pathway to graduation.
With expanded subject offerings and the freedom to explore diverse academic areas, Year 10 students can sample before specialising across multiple disciplines. This exploratory approach allows our students to make informed decisions about their senior subjects whilst developing the foundational skills essential for Years 11 and 12 success.
Work Experience Program
Every Year 10 student participates in a week-long Work Experience placement at the end of Term 3. This authentic workplace immersion delivers valuable insights into career possibilities, builds confidence in professional settings, and guides informed senior subject selections.
Early Pathway Options
From Year 10, students can commence School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships, working one day per week in their chosen field whilst earning both income and nationally recognised qualifications. This early start provides a significant advantage for students ready to begin their career journey while alongside their high school studies.

Years 11 and 12 is the phase that the cognitive, physical, emotional and social skills acquired thus far are brought to maturity. This process enables students to become successful and productive Christian leaders/participants in the community through:
- engaging students in a rigorous academic program. While English and Mathematics remain compulsory core subjects, students select four other subjects to construct a six-subject program, allowing them to tailor their academic experience to achieve their goals.
- providing opportunities to enter university courses for a semester in Years 11 and 12.
- providing opportunities for students to study courses other than those offered at school. These would include traineeships and certificate courses in Years 11 and 12.
Curriculum
King's senior school students follow the internationally recognised Queensland Certificate Education (QCE) system under the direction of the Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority (QCAA).
King's is also advised by Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ).
Academic Environment
In Years 11 and 12, students will work with increasing independence and responsibility. Initiative, resilience and decision-making will become essential skills during this phase. Bringing these attributes to maturity and combining them with spiritual growth will prepare students for the future, whether that is in tertiary studies or in the workforce.
Subject Selection
The subjects listed below are available to King’s students in Years 11 and 12. All students undertake studies in English, Mathematics, and Christian Studies.

A Future Pathway for Every Student
Purposefully Designed Individualised Streams
Our experienced careers team works closely with students and families to design pathways that champion individual strengths, interests, and aspirations. Whether the goal is medicine, trades, creative industries, or entrepreneurship, we provide the guidance and opportunities needed to achieve the vision.
A confident future starts with informed choices and tailored pathways for each student, whether through traditional ATAR, Vocational Education and Training (VET), or a combination of both.

Traditional ATAR Stream
For students pursuing university entrance through academic achievement, our comprehensive ATAR program offers five or six General subjects designed to maximise your child's potential. This pathway provides the rigorous academic foundation needed for competitive university courses whilst maintaining flexibility to include Applied subjects to align with interests.
Combined ATAR & VET Stream
This innovative approach combines four or five General subjects with Certificate or Diploma qualifications, allowing students to pursue university entrance whilst gaining practical industry skills. Students graduate with both an ATAR and nationally recognised qualifications, providing multiple entry points to their chosen career and a competitive edge in both university and employment.
QCE VET Stream
Designed for students seeking direct workforce entry or specialised vocational training, this pathway combines five subjects with Certificate or Diploma qualifications. Many universities now accept these vocational achievements as ATAR equivalents, ensuring students maintain access to higher education whilst developing industry-ready skills.
The ATAR Pathway
Students are equipped with the academic foundation, critical thinking skills, and personal discipline to pursue their university aspirations with confidence.
ATAR ExcellenceVET Options
Students gain nationally recognised qualifications within the timetable, graduating with practical skills and industry credentials that open doors to diverse careers and further study.
