King's Christian College
International Students
King’s Christian College is a registered CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) provider (00341A) and warmly welcomes international students into our community. A key part of our College vision is to foster understanding and goodwill between people of different nations. Currently, students from ten countries are enrolled across our campuses, enriching our school life with their diverse perspectives and experiences.
We recognise the many challenges international students face as they adjust to a new language, culture, customs, humour, and food. Since opening more than 40 years ago, King’s has had the privilege of hosting students from around the world. To support integration, the College limits the number of students accepted from each country at each year level.
English Language Preparation
All international students are required to develop a solid foundation in English prior to commencing their enrolment at King’s. To support this, both primary and high school students may enrol in one of the many excellent language schools located on the Gold Coast.
- Primary-aged students are encouraged to attend Young Learners programs.
- High school students should undertake High School Preparation courses.
Once students acquire the necessary English proficiency (see our prospectus for full entry requirements), they are able to join mainstream school classes. To further support their learning, King’s provides up to four weekly English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) lessons delivered in small groups by TESOL-qualified staff.
Academic and Pathway Opportunities
Our academic programs are designed to meet the individual goals and abilities of each student. Graduates of King’s Christian College are well-prepared to continue their studies at junior college or university. The College also maintains strong links with local universities, which offer a wide range of bachelor, master and doctoral programs.
